Pickpockets are a major concern during heavy traffic seasons at the mall. They will try to get to close to you and pick your pockets, backpack, purse, and your shopping bags as well. Make sure you keep your purse firmly at your side and zipped at all times unless you need it for paying for merchandise. This also applies to your backpacks as well. Do not carry your credit cards, cash or wallet in your back pocket. Leave them in your front pocket making it harder to gain access to. Speaking of cash, try not to carry a large amount of it. Losing a credit card is not that devastating as you can file it as lost and recover any monies spent that may have occurred when stolen. Checks, credit cards, debit cards, or gift cards are the best way to pay for purchases during the holidays.
Be sure not to fall victim to store rage, road rage, parking spot, or any other kind of rage. People become stressed out during holidays for many different reasons, and it is best just to avoid confrontation altogether. It is much easier to walk or drive away and make sure you have a pleasant holiday season versus ending up in jail or something worse.
ALWAYS ask for an escort out of the mall whenever possible.
Remember, just use your head and a little common sense and you will have another enjoyable holiday season with your loved ones.
Be safe out there and don't let your guard down!
